Overview
ActivitySource is a channel partner platform that helps vendors, distributors, and partners collaborate on business activity planning, Market Development Funds (MDF), and sales outcomes. As UX Design Lead and founding product partner, I've shaped the platform from early prototypes through to deployments with global cybersecurity vendors.
The challenge
Channel programs involve three distinct audiences—vendors, distributors, and partners—each with different goals but a shared need for clarity and accountability. Traditional approaches rely on scattered spreadsheets, email threads, and disconnected portals. The core design challenge was simplifying complex channel concepts like MDF, business activity plans, and deal attribution into workflows that feel intuitive without training.
My role
I lead the end-to-end product experience across planning, MDF, and deal workflows. This includes:
- Interaction design for core modules (initiatives, activities, MDF tracking, deal linkage)
- Information architecture for the partner ecosystem view
- Product discovery with alliances and channel teams at large cybersecurity vendors
- Iterative UI improvements based on customer feedback
Key design work
Business Activity Planning: Designed templates and flows that let alliance teams plan initiatives with partners, track progress, and maintain alignment over long timeframes.
MDF and ROI tracking: Connected activity funding, execution, and deal outcomes so program owners can understand which activities drive revenue, not just spend.
Partner experience: Created an immersive, custom-branded workspace that feels unified rather than bolt-on, presenting content, programs, and activities in a consistent, navigable way.
Impact
The platform helps global teams standardize planning and program execution while supporting local flexibility. Partners and vendors move from anecdotal planning to measurable, activity-level visibility across their channel ecosystem.
